St. Francis House is not about weddings. But donations from services help
support our Mission, to serve the veteran community.
The Chaplains of Saint Francis House wear "two hats".
A Chaplain's Hat
A Chaplain is trained and ordained in All Faiths. A Chaplain is a facilitator that
helps individuals express their spirituality regardless of that spirituality.
A Friar or Brother's Hat
The Chaplains are Ordained as Franciscans. As such, some can perform
Catholic Weddings with some restrictions listed below.
As Chaplains or Friars they:
-Do a one-hour session to meet and plan the ceremony. The Chaplains will
throw out some possible pieces of the puzzle and the Bride and Groom pick
what suits their personality. Do's and don't's are covered as well.
-Co-ordinate the Rehearsal
-Travel to ceremony site and perform the ceremony.
Restrictions:
1. The wedding must "promote a"spirit of Prayer and Devotion".
2. We cannot be "in competition with" anyone else. If the Parish in which you are an active member does
not allow us to do the Celebration, we cannot.
